Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled "The Development and Acceptability of Translucent Precast Concrete Block using Waste Glass" was conducted to contribute to the new technology that has been introduced to the construction industry. This technology refers to the new type of concrete or wall material that allows light to pass through it. The researchers have designed a concrete block that makes use of waste glass as a partial replacement for the coarse aggregate content. Two mixtures were used, namely 1:2:3:2:0:8 (Wherein for every one unit volume of cement, there corresponds two unit volume of sand: 3,2 unit volume of gravel and 0.8 unit volume crushed waste glass) and 1:2:2:2 (wherein for every one unit of cement, there corresponds two unit volume of sand, tow unit volume of gravel and two unit crushed waste glass). The said mixtures underwent Slump Test, Compressive Strength Test and Material Costing analysis. Also, the mixtures where scrutinized by Civil Engineers, Contractors and Civil Engineering students. For the Slump Test, the 1:2:3:2:0:8 mixture produced a within standard result and is therefore deemed Workable, on the other hand, the 1:2:2:2 mixture produced a less than standard result and id therefore deemed less workable. For the compressive strength test, the mixture with the 20% crushed waste glass replacement for gravel produced normal results; whereas the mixture with the 50% crushed waste glass replacement for gravel failed. In terms of Material Costing, the mixture with the 20% crushed waste glass replacement for gravel produced a Php. 1,224 cost reduction per block; whereas the mixture with the 50% crushed waste glass replacement for gravel produced a Php. 3.07. With regards to the level of acceptability of the concrete blocks on the basis of Appearance, Functionality and Translucency, a questionnaire checklist was used. All results are within the 4.20 - 5.00 grades under the Likert Scale which translates to 'Highly Accepted'. The researcher deemed that the design for a translucent concrete block using waste glass was acceptable in terms of Workability, Compressive Strength, Costing Appearance, Functionality and Translucency.
