Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Civil Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMAR: This study entitled Restoration of Hollow Chisel Mortiser, performed try out and revision for the defects found during the testing period, evaluated the acceptability of the Restoration of Hollow Chisel Mortiser in terms of performance, safety, maintenance, usefulness, and durability. Lastly determine the significant difference on the evaluation made by the groups of respondents in terms of usefulness, safety, maintenance and performance. The old hollow chisel mortise was restored and made it functional and can be used effectively in mortising different sizes. The restores machine was subjected to try - out and revision, defects were found out and were given remedy. After the revision period the machine found out functional and attained its objective. On the acceptability of the device in terms of performance the Restores Hollow Chisel Mortiser obtained verbal interpretation of "Excellent" with and average weighted mean of end users 4.67 and for experts is 4.6. Likewise in terms of safety of the device obtained verbal interpretation of "Extremely Safe" with an average weighted mean of end-users 4.32 and for experts is 4.7, for maintenance criterion of the device, the machine obtained verbal interpretation of "Extremely Easy" with an average weighted mean of end-users 4.27 and for experts is 4.6, while for the usefulness of the device, the machine obtained verbal interpretation of Extremely Useful" with an average weighted mean of end-users 4.55 and for experts is 4.7. Lastly durability of the restored machine obtained verbal interpretation of "Extremely Durable" with an average weighted mean of end-users 4.42 and for experts is 4.5. On the significant difference on evaluation made by two groups of respondents in terms of performance, maintenance, usefulness and durability had no significant difference while for safety criterion there is significant difference, hence the hypothesis in terms of safety was rejected and verbally interpreted as significant. The study concluded that the Old Hollow Chisel Mortiser after restoration process was back into running condition. The restored Hollow Chisel Moritser after restoration attained its function based on the restoration design. The acceptability of the unit was extremely acceptable and revealed that there is no significant difference in terms of performance, maintenance, usefulness, durability. However, in terms of durability of the project there was significant difference on the evaluation made by the two groups of respondents. The recommendations were based from the result of findings and conclusions, the following recommendations were given. Additional measuring table should be installed to set the depth of the mortise, improvement of the design of the machine should be done and further study should be made to improve the performance of the machine.
