Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted t5o find out the role of social dominance orientation in Antipolo City. This study was first conducted during the first semester of the school year 2016-2017. This study wanted used the quantitative research method utilizing the adaptive- modified and researcher-made questionnaire checklist to measure the social dominance orientation, egalitarianism, cyclical fate and empathy. The subject of the study was selected through the use of quota sampling technique. There were seventy-five (75) participants, twenty five (25) from each socioeconomic groups from subdivision, barangay and slum in Antipolo City. The finding showed that there was a significant relationship between the social dominance orientation and egalitarianism of socioeconomic groups from subdivision while in their cyclical fate and empathy, it has no significant relationship with their social dominance orientation. It also showed that there is no significant relationship between social dominance orientation and egalitarianism and empathy of socioeconomic groups in barangay and slum while there was a significant relationship on their social dominance orientation and cyclical fate. It was also found out that there was a significant difference on the social dominance orientation and empathy of socioeconomic groups in subdivision, barangay and slum while there was no significant difference on their egalitarianism and cyclical fate. On the basis of the foregoing findings and conclusion, the researchers recommend for the future study to conduct in different areas in the Philippines other than Antipolo City to find for differentiation of socioeconomic groups in different place and can use different variables and instruments that can be measure together with social dominance orientation such as the effect of "kapwa" and pakikipagkapwa" of socioeconomic groups as core value of Filipinos in their social dominance orientation, egalitarianism, cyclical fate and empathy. Furthermore, barangay officials should conduct activities such as socialization events that require all of the people in barangay to attend such as those who live in subdivision and slum area, because it can help them to know each other disregarding the status and the government must give more focus on providing support and programs such as livelihood program, for the people in barangay and slum to help them with their income to provide their needs in daily living.
