Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Agricultural Technology University of Rizal System 2018 Summary: The projects White Corn Production and Hog Finishing were implemented as a requirement for the Bachelor in Agricultural Technology course. This course deals with basic agricultural practices and entrepreneurship to prepare the student who would like to venture in agricultural enterprise after graduation. Both projects were implemented inside the University of Rizal System Main Campus Tanay, Rizal. The area used by the OIP student satisfied the needs of the projects White Corn and Hog Finishing. The implementation of the project on corn production started on May 8, 2017 for the 1st cycle, and November 8, 2017 for the 2nd cycle and was terminated on July 27, 2017 for 1st cycle and January 31, 2018 for 2nd cycle while the Hog Finishing project started on September 22,2017 and was terminated on January 25, 2018. Both projects were implemented in 4 months. The White Corn Production utilized a total area of 250 sqm for both cycles while six heads of Duroc breed were used for the hog finishing project. The OIP student performed all the activities in both projects. The harvested corn ears were sold at ₱25.00 per kilogram to the retailer in Barangay Sampaloc.The OIP student harvested a total of 252 kilograms of corn and gained a net income of one thousand one hundred ninety-five pesos and twenty-six centavos (₱1,195.26). The project has a gross sale of six thousand three hundred pesos (₱6,300.00) with a production expenses of five thousand two hundred four pesos and seventy-four centavos (₱5,204.74). This resulted to a return on investment (ROI) of forty-one and seventy-two percent (41.72%). During the four months of operation on Hog Finishing project a total weight of four hundred seventy-six (476) kilograms was obtained. This gained a net income of six thousand one hundred fifty-four pesos and ninety-nine centavos (₱6,154.99). This amount was obtained from a gross sale of sixty-three thousand three hundred eight pesos (₱63,308.00) and production expenses of fifty-seven thousand one hundred fifty-three pesos and one centavos (₱57,153.01). The project has a return on investment of ten and seventy-seven percent (10.77%). The finished hogs were sold at ₱133.00 per kilogram to the wholesaler in Barangay Sampaloc. During the actual operation of the projects the OIP student encountered some problems, like the typhoon, strong wind and the pest like rats affected the yield and income of the project. The OIP student recommended that the planting time be adjusted or else use an off-season variety to prevent the occurrence of the same problem.
