Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Automotive Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop an Improvised Mechanical U-bolt Bender and evaluate the level of acceptability based on the perception of the experts and students in terms of Usefulness, Functionality, Safety and Maintenance and Durability. The adapted questionnaire checklist was the major instrument used to gather the needed data. The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System-Morong campus, College of Industrial Technology, Automotive Shops during the second semester of school year 2015-2016 and first semester of school year 2016-2017. The researchers developed the Improvised Mechanical U-bolt Bender utilizing descriptive and developmental method of research. It was anchored on the Coomb's System Approach and principles on pressure. The respondents of the study were eight (8) CIT professors and three (3) auto-technicians in Automotive Technology. They composed of the experts and twenty 20 third and fourth year students taking up Diploma of Technology and Bachelor of Technology in Automotive Technology at the same University. Purposive sampling was used by the researchers in selecting respondents, since they were engaged and exposed in Automotive Technology and Mechanical Technology. Based from the result of the study the researchers concluded that there is no significant difference on the Improvised Mechanical U-bolt Bender with respect to perception of the respondents on the level of it's the acceptability in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety and maintenance and durability. Based on the summary of findings and conclusions drawn, it is recommended that the device should be improved in terms of its accuracy. The device can be re-modeled and should be added with other features aside from pressure testing and measurements. Further research can be done for the improvement of the study in the near future to improve the function of the device and further improvement on the size of the device by reducing its size and weight. Finally, utilization of the developed instrument should be implemented.
