Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to determine the level of exposure of the participants in terms of smoking behavior indicators among male psychology students. The study is composed of seventy-seven (77) male participants from psychology students who were selected from the survey conducted by the researchers. The study made used the descriptive method of research utilizing the researcher's made questionnaire. Checklist was the main tool to gather the needed information data. To determine the profile of the participants in terms of their age, year level, religion and family smoking history, the statistical treatment used was frequency, percentage and rank distribution. To determine the level of participants and smoking behavior indicators, the weighted mean was applied. To find the significant difference of smoking behavior indicators in terms of age, year level, religion and family smoking history, One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was utilized. With the computation, the findings revealed that there is no significant difference in stress level, peer smoking and perceived smoking-related risks and benefits in terms of age, year level, religion and family smoking history but there is a significant difference in terms of alcohol consumption practices with respect to religion. The researchers found out based on the results and findings, the researchers concluded that alcohol consumption practices, stress level, peer smoking and perceived smoking-related risks and benefits were not identifies as the smoking behavior indicators. Whereas, the religion they have affects their beliefs and practices towards alcohol consumption since their religious decorum restricts them. From the summary of findings and conclusions formulated, the following were recommended: Local Government Unit (LGU) may check the distance of stores that sells cigarettes outside the campus. It should be at least 100 meters radius to prevent litter and also pollution of air that may affect non-smokers as it was seen by the researchers throughout the study that smokers tend to smoke near the entrance of the campus since there are mini stores along the vicinity that easily provides cigarette for them. The school may focus more on strict implementation of existing policies on non-smoking near the campus, OSDS and COS may conduct health and wellness seminars to raise awareness on the health risks of smoking as well as to increase their awareness that they also affect the health of other non-smoking students in the form of second-hand smoke on both and future researches may conduct considering other aspects.
