Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled "Self-Esteem of Social Media Users" was conducted during the school year 2016-2017. The main objective of the study was to determine the extent of social media utilization among adolescents, young adults and adults, the level of self-esteem of active social media users and inactive social media users and the difference on the self-esteem of active social media users and inactive social media users among various age groups. The subjects of the study were the adolescents (12-18 years old). Young adults (18-40 years old) and adults (40-65 years old) in the three selected towns in Rizal namely Antipolo, Baras, and Morong. The study was conducted to determine the level of self-esteem of active social media users and inactive social media users among various age groups. The study found out that among adolescents, young adults and adults, adolescents and young adults are more likely to socialize on social media than adults. While the level of self-esteem of active social media users and inactive social media users has no significant difference showing that social networking site has nothing to do with it. The study also shows that there is no significant difference on the self-esteem of active social media users and inactive social media users among the three age groups showing that the level of self-esteem depends on a person, thus, age has nothing to do with it. Therefore, both social media and age has nothing to do with the level of self-esteem of an individual. Moreover, the researchers conclude that most people nowadays have their Facebook accounts but not everyone is active on using it. The researchers recommend that every educational institutions, even in college should have a seminar that will give awareness to all students for the right use of social networking sites. Programs, seminars or activities that will improve the self-esteem of an individual must not just focused to adolescents and young adults but also for the adults, it may be conducted in the community through the help barangay officials.
