Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The main objective of the study was to know the relationship between self-disclosure in terms of depth, honesty and intent and the self-concepts of adolescents in using various concepts with hashtag in social media. The study was conducted at University of Rizal System, Morong, Rizal. The respondents were 100 students who uses the various concepts with hashtag in Facebook such as #Hugot, #Famewhore, #OOTD, and #ATM. The study utilized the descriptive quantitative research design. Based on the findings, we concluded that the online self-disclosure in terms of depth, honesty and intent has a relationship with the adolescent's self-concept, either real self or ideal self in using various concepts with hashtag in facebook. Furthermore, findings revealed that while adolescents are posting in facebook, these adolescents are displaying their real self-more, rather than their ideal self. More so, finding showed that in terms of intent, real self is disclosed with the used of #Hugot and #Famewhore, at the same time, ideal self is disclosed with the use of #famewhore, at the same time, ideal self is disclosed with the use of #famewhore and #ootd. In terms of honesty, real self is disclosed with the use of #hugot and #atm, while ideal self is also discosed with the use of #hugot. Lastly, in terms of intent, real self is disclosed with the use of #atm and at the same time, ideal self is disclosed with the use of #atm. On the basis of the foregoing findings and conclusions, the study recommend that the School Administration, Particularly the Office of Students Division Services may conduct or include a seminar in their program of activities regarding the adolescents' awareness on their self-concept in online setting as well as the awareness on the limitations in posting personal information online. Future research may also be conducted using other types of social media search engine like Instagram, twitter etc. as well as to the use of other popular hashtags in social media to fully determine self-disclosure of adolescents in the use of internet.
