Cardona 2002 Summary: The study was conducted to determine the effects of formulated feeds with different protein level on the growth and survival of freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) juveniles. Three treatments were replicated thrice, feedstuff was undergo on actual analysis and the protein level was obtained using trial and error method. The study covered sixty (60) days of feeding experiment and sampling was done every twenty (20) days which composed of formulated feeds with ingredients such as fishmeal, shrimp, meal, corpa meal and cornstarch. Different protein level was used such as 38% CP in treatment one, 41% CP in treatment two and 44% CP in treatment three. The length and weight of the fish was measured every sampling. Survival was recorded every day. Chi-Square was used to determine the significant difference in terms of survival. Completely Randomized Design was used as the experimental design of the study and Analysis of Variance and Chi-Square was used to determine the significant difference on the growth and survival of fresh water prawn using different protein level at 5% level of probability in terms of length and weight. Findings showed that treatment three gave the best result in terms of length, weight and survival. However, good growth and food utilization efficiencies were obtained among all treatments used. No disease and toxicity observed. Chi-Square procedure revealed that the tabular value of 5.991 is higher than the computed value of 1.41. Thus, accepting the null hypothesis. F-Test procedure revealed that in terms of weight, the computed value of 5.25 is higher than the tabular value of 5.14 arriving in the decision of rejecting the null hypothesis. But in terms of length, it revealed that there is no significant difference among all the treatment used at 5% level of probability.
