Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled "Acceptance, Adjustment and Intervention of Parents of Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder" was conducted in selected towns of Rizal, during the school year 2017-2018. The main objective of the study was to explore and determine the acceptance, adjustment and intervention of parents with ADHD children, and how their experiences affected their lives. The researchers focused on five (5) respondents, who are parents of children with ADHD. They were residing in selected places in Baras and Morong, Rizal. The study made used of the descriptive qualitative method and utilized the research-made interview guide questions and did not involve statistics. The data gathered included the respondents' name, age, occupation, institution/school where their children is attending and their experiences as parent of children with ADHD. Their acceptance, including adjustments and intervention in handling their children were also determined. As a result of the study, the acceptance adjustment and intervention of the respondents to their children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affected their mental, emotional, physical, social, moral and beliefs. These resulted to the changing of their characteristics, their way of interacting with other people, specially their beliefs, principles and perspective in life. It was also found out that most of the respondents initially have hard times but later on the respondents accepted the condition of their children. Respondents are well-adjusted and they can intervene with the condition of their children. They valued their lives more and spend it with their children. Respondents give their full attention to their children. As a general recommendation, the parents should keep up the proper way of educating and taking care of their children. Government Unit, concerned institution and organizations should strengthen their programs in ADHD and other related cases. And future research studies must be conducted and use other variables, subjects or respondents prior to acceptance, adjustment and intervention of parents ADHD to have further explanation why such this experiences result to mental tension and worriedness.
