Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Biology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Study aimed to determine the Insecticidal activity of Tubli (Derris elliptica roxb) Benth root extract against Rice Black Bug (Scotinophara coarctata Fabricius) in the school year 2014-2015 at University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal. This study utilized experimental research design to determine the effect of different solutions of Tubli roots extract on the mortality rate of Rice Black Bug. The experiment involved the extraction of roots of Tubli to make crude extract and ethanolic extract. The actual experimentation involved in the study was the collection of the rice black bugs that was acclimatized prior to experimentation. The next step was the preparation of the laboratory materials needed for the experiment which was followed by the collection of Tubli roots, cleaning and extraction of all solutions used for treating the Black bugs. Lastly, was the recording and interpretation of the data gathered. Mean and standard deviation were used to determine the insecticidal activity Tubli roots extract on the morality rate of Rice black Bugs. In addition, One-Way Analysis of Variance was used to determined the significant difference of Tubli root extract with respect to commercial insecticides. Lastly, t-test was also used to determine the significant on the morality rate of Rice Black Bugs with respect to different solution and commercial insecticide. The gathered data from the obtained results shows that, Tubli root extracts has significant effect on the morality rate of Rice black bugs with respect to different solution and against commercial insecticide. It is hereby recommended that Tubli may be used as insecticide. Also, further study using crushed Tubli should be done.
