Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to analyze the Hygiene and Sanitation Practices Among the Canteens in University of Rizal System during the school year 2016-2017. The description method design was used in the conduct of the study for the researchers used with data questionnaire and observation that served as tool for documentary analysis and for gathering data and information. On the profile of respondents, in terms of age out of fifty (50) respondents, fifty eight percent (58) percent were the age bracket of 16-25 years of age, 26-35 got twenty (20) percent, 36-45 got sixteen (16) percent, 46-45 got six (6) percent. In terms of Sex, there are more female respondents, sixty eight (68) percent with the number of thirty four (34) then the male got thirty two (32) percent with the number of sixteen (16). In terms of civil status, there are more single respondents of seventy two (72) percent that married of twenty eight (28) percent. In terms of classification out of fifty respondents (50) respondents, college students got fifty (50) percent, teachers professors and canteen workers got the same percent of ten (10) percent and non teaching staff got the five (5) percent. Perception of respondents in Hygiene and Sanitation Practices Among the University of Rizal System Antipolo City, with respect to Food Preparation, the average weighted mean was 3.34 interpreted as 'Often', with respect to Food Services, the average weighted mean was 3.67 interpreted as 'Very Often', with the respect to handling and Using Tools Equipment, the average weighted mean was 3.20 interpreted as 'Often' with respect to Dining Area, the average weighted mean was 2.88 interpreted as 'Often' and with respect Personnel, the average weighted mean of 3.30 interpreted as 'Often'. The average weighted mean in different aspects with respects to Food Preparation, Food services, Handling and Using Tools and Equipment, Dining Area and Personnel was 'Often'. The significant difference on the perceptions of respondents in Hygiene and sanitation Practices Among the Canteen in University of Rizal System with respects to the mentioned variables I terms of age, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference on the hygiene and food sanitation practice by the respondents was accepted. In terms of sex, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference in terms of handling and using tools equipment, dining area and personnel by the respondents was accepted, except the food preparation and food serving practices is the significant difference and was rejected. In terms of civil status, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference on the hygiene and food sanitation practices by the respondents was accepted. In terms of classification, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant difference on the hygiene and food sanitation practices by the respondents was accepted. The study concluded that the majority of the respondents have age 16-25, female, single and students. The food canteens often practice hygiene and sanitation in food preparation, food services, using tools and equipment, dining area and personnel. Age, Civil status and Classification of respondents do not affect the perception of respondents on hygiene and food sanitation practices and sex of respondents affects their perception on hygiene and food sanitation. In the light of the findings and conclusions, the following recommendation are offered findings of this study may be submitted to the city health officer of Antipolo City for future reference in monitoring the food sanitation practices of canteens in URS Antipolo Campus. Antipolo City may do a monthly check to the food canteens to make sure of the cleanliness of the food canteens.
