Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled "Essential Feminist Approach in the Selected Novels of Lualhati Bautista" was conducted at the University of Rizal System, Morong, Rizal during the academic year 2016-2017. Its purpose is to analyze through Essential Feminism Approach in the Selected novels of Lualhati Bautista "Sixty in the City" and "Dekada '70". The qualitative-descriptive type of research is utilized since its primary objectives are to analyze the selected works. The data of the study were gathered through the discussion of work using the problem encompassing objectives of the study: social roles which refer to the roles of women in the novels such as a mother and as a wife; empowerment means how women show their essence by empowering themselves. From the analysis of work, it was found that women are not just a mother and a typical wife however, they are also human that can do things as men. Women can empower themselves with confidence to show that they can do better and that they are fighters to show and pursue their dreams and achievement in life. This also showed the influence, interest and issue concerning women's right as well as the lead characters. The result also showed that the novels utilized the social role as a mother and as a wife and how women empowered themselves in pursuing their dreams to achieve it in their own way and how women's interest, issue and influence help them to achieve their dreams. As the researchers went deeper in analyzing the novels, they have concluded that the selected novels were focused on the empowerment of women's social role concerning their characteristics, personality and status in life. Lastly, the researchers recommended conducting follow up study about gender essentialism; influencing students to have a study about Feminism and issues regarding the roles of women in society. It was also recommended the encouragement of the teacher to study about gender stereotyping that can be experience inside the school premises.
