Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled ENERGY SAVING AND SECURITY MONITORING FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY BUILDING aimed to develop a device for energy saving and security monitoring that will protect the security of the classrooms and the building during the School Year 2017-2018. The researchers developed the energy saving and security monitoring system for science and technology building for security device that captures a video or still images and activated by motion within the area. The preventive hours of footage gather no incidents happening, while activating the appliances when the people come into or move through an area. This device can be used indoors. The design project is divided into two parts; the hardware and software. The hardware part consists of the physical devices used on the project; the close-circuit television (CCTV) with motion sensor, digital video recorder (DVR) Relay switch, magnetic contractor, microcontroller, circuit breaker, light, buzzer and outlets. The software part is the system developed to make the project work and interface to the hardware device with the system. This uses Arduino Program. The study used Developmental method as it involves development energy saving and security monitoring system for science and technology building. Descriptive method was also used to determine the level of workability, usefulness, user-friendliness, functionality, applicability, safety and maintenance. Based on the evaluation of the 20 respondents, the respondents agreed that the developed system can be used, configured, maintained safety. The respondents are the IT experts and students. The findings show that the device is "very much accepted". The recommendations were offered to the proponents to provide UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to the system for emergency backup of power supply in case of brownout and for further use of channels the authorized person can add up to 8 closed-circuit television (CCTV), for longer recording the hard drive can be replaced with storage that has higher capacity. A parallel study is recommended for future researchers by switching system not only for the said appliances but also for other electrical appliances.
