Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Developmental of Electronic Controlled Energy Saving Device focuses on reducing energy consumption and utility costs normally wasted on empty rooms in hotel and rental houses. With the use of PIR sensor and a microcontroller, the device will be the one to open and shut down the electricity supply automatically. The Developmental of Electronic Controlled Energy Saving Device was constructed with the use of a microcontroller a 24-Hr Timer and a PIR sensor. When the PIR sensor detects motion and the 24-Hr timer is on its set time it will generate signal that will be fed to the microcontroller then the microcontroller will trigger the relay to switch on the appliance. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher utilized developmental, descriptive and experimental research designs. The researchers used a questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the device in terms of design, functionality, usefulness and safety and maintenance. The researchers used the 5-point Likert scale to indicate the responses on the questionnaire checklist. Then the results were interpreted by referring to the objectives. In general, the computed mean in terms of design as perceived by the households and experts are 4.88 and 4.36 respectively and both are verbally interpreted as very much accepted. For the functionality of Electronic Controlled Energy Saving Device, the computed mean are 4.8 and 4.6 are evaluated by the two groups of respondents and both are verbally interpreted as very much accepted. The Developmental of Electronic Controlled Energy Saving Device got a mean are 4.8 and 4.32 are evaluated by the two groups of respondents and both are verbally interpreted as very much accepted. The computed mean in terms of safety and maintenance as perceived by the households and experts are 4.72 and 4.32 respectively and both are verbally interpreted as very much accepted. For the amount of energy utilization with device and without the device, the computed mean variance are 0.4234 and 0.0212 respectively. The computed mean t-value is 6.59 are greater than the tabulated of 2.306 with the 8 degree of freedom. Therefore the null hypothesis is accepted and its verbal interpretation is significant. This implies that there is a significant difference on the amount of energy utilization with the device and without the device.
