Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering University of Rizal System-Morong. 2018 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This research study entitled as AUTOMATED ICE PLANT AMMONIA SENSING DEVICE WITH NOTIFICATION SYSTEM was conducted during the school year 2018- 2019 mainly to have an alarm system in ice plants. It was constructed to develop a prototype device to sense ammonia gas leakage in ice plants which can produce signal lights, sound alarms and notifications through SMS messages to inform concerned personnel about the leakage and create manual to be a guide in using the device. The study used developmental and descriptive research designs since this was focused to develop Automated Ice Plant Ammonia Sensing Device with Notification System. To determine the level of acceptability of the device in terms of accuracy, design, functionality, safety and maintenance, usability and user-friendliness, questionnaire checklist was given to the students and experts. To evaluate the device, there were respondents considered such as Experts (Technician/Maintenance/Workers/Professionals) and Students. Variables which are accuracy, design, functionality, safety and maintenance, usability and user-friendliness were used to answer the objectives. The researchers calibrated the device to evaluate how much ammonia gas leaked in the ice plant during the testing. The detected ammonia gas leak used to trigger the device with the use of gas sensor to alarm and send messages to the concerned personnel. Hence, based on the results, the research study concluded that the device sensed ammonia gas leak through the use of the gas sensor and provided accurate level of ammonia gas, was found to be Extremely Acceptable as evaluated by the experts and students, the manual made by the researchers was used to further understand the device's purpose especially to the designated user of the device and was highly functional as it successfully performed its designated task. For further studies, the researchers recommend to make the components bigger such as speaker and notification lights to have more effective outputs, upgrade the quality of signal of the device to send SMS messages on the right time, add more feature such as the device can remove the bad odor of ammonia gas and improve the design of the device on the acceptability of the study in order to become more efficient to its purpose
