Mediating effect of parental affection between parenting styles

The study was conducted in selected towns in rizal such as morong, tanay and antipolo city. One hundred twenty (120) respondents were chosen using the purposive sampling technique. The descriptive quantitative design was used to gather information needed in the study. In data gathering, researchers-made questionnaire checklist was used. Frequency, rank and percentage were used to determine the profile of the respondents. Weighted mean was applied to determine the extent of social-emotional development with respect to empathy, social understanding and recognition of ability. To determine the significant difference that exists on the parenting styles on the parental affection and on the social emotional development of children. Analysis of variance (anova) was applied. The data were tailed, tabulated, analyzed and interprets. The results showed that, out of 120 respondents, 64 of them have seems that their parents are authoritative. Based on the findings, emotional affection was determining aspect on the parental affection of children, which mostly seems to authoritative respondents with an average weighted mean 0f 3.85 and verbally interpreted as "often". And also on the findings, recognition of ability was the determining aspect on the social-emotional development of children, which mostly seems to permissive respondents with an average mean of 3.60 and verbally interpreted as "more likely me". It is recommended that the local government from different towns in rizal should conduct an intervention to enhance the family relationships. The school as well as the guidance counsellor and teachers should help the parents by supporting collaboration across programs that can reduce some difficulties that they may experience. The constituents must be aware and cooperate in the program and projects related to development of social emotional of the children.
