EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the acceptability of the developed performance-based instructional material in teaching local Philippine literature. The research was conducted during the academic year 2017-2018 in university of rizal system morong, rizal. The subjects of the study were teachers and student teachers of English. This study used the descriptive-developmental method of research since the researchers used the adapted-modified questionnaire-checklist in determining the level of acceptability of the developed material. To determine the level of acceptability of the developed performance-based instructional material in teaching local Philippine literature in terms of different aspects, mean was statistical tool used to answer problems in line with the study. The study revealed that the level of acceptability on the developed instructional material in teaching local Philippine literature with respect to the objectives, content, language and style used and usability was very much accepted this was justified by the computed mean of respondents. The study also arrived with the following conclusions: construction of instructional materials is a very crucial job as it needed such great knowledge, effort and research to produce effective and suitable materials for the target learners, in order to develop an acceptable and relevant performance-based instructional material, the objectives, content, language and style use and the usability should be looked upon carefully and to understand and appreciate others' uniqueness is to first understand and appreciate their very own; thus there is a need for every Filipino, regardless of profession and status, to visit and appreciate their own literature. Based from the summary of findings and conclusions drawn, the study recommended the following; encourage teachers to use the developed performance-based instructional material in teaching Philippine literature, a follow up study may be conducted utilizing different variables to test the effectiveness of the developed performance-based instructional material and more similar studies may be conducted to develop localized instructional material in teaching of Philippine literature.
