Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: With the aim of providing intervening activities that will help grade 7 learners of English enhanced their reading comprehension and teachers to teach reading easier, the researchers conducted a study entitled "Reading Intervention Material for Grade 7 Learners of URS Laboratory". This research aimed to develop and determine the level of acceptability of the developed Reading Intervention Material for Grade 7 Learners of URS Laboratory. This study was conducted during the academic year 2016-2017. This study used descriptive-developmental type research utilizing an adapted modified questionnaire checklist for the evaluation of Reading Intervention Material with respect to content, language and style, completeness and usefulness. The Reading Intervention Material was developed first by conducting a diagnostic test that determined the least mastered competencies of the learners in reading. The diagnostic test was given to the Grade 7 learners of URS Laboratory School. The result of the diagnostic test served as the basis in making the Reading intervention Material. After careful analysis of the result of the diagnostic test the researchers started to develop the Reading Intervention for Grade 7 Learners of URS Laboratory School. To determine the level of acceptability of the developed Reading Intervention Material, there were three (3) Grade 7 Teachers of English from Mahabang Parang National High School, four (4) Grade 7 Teachers of English from Bernardo F. San Juan National High School, one (1) grade 7 teacher of English from Lagundi-CCL National High School, three (3) grade 7 teachers of English in Tanay National High School, one (1) grade 7 teacher of English from Tanay West National High School and two (2) grade 7 teacher of English from Marciana P. Catolos National High School who assessed the evaluation of the developed material. Overall, there were 14 grade 7 teachers of English that served as the respondents of the study. This study revealed the level of acceptability of the developed Reading Intervention Material for Grade 7 Learners of URS Laboratory School with respect to the different aspects was very much acceptable. This was justified by the computed weighted mean. Based from the findings derived from the study, it was concluded that the developed Reading Intervention Material may be used in teaching and will help contribute and improve the level of comprehension of the learners. The researchers therefore recommended the following: First, the developed Reading Intervention Material was recommended for the utilization of the teachers in teaching and enhancing the reading comprehension of the learners, second, conduct follow-up studies regarding the effectiveness of the developed Reading Intervention Material, third, conduct a parallel study regarding Reading Intervention Material utilizing other variables/competencies where learners are found to be weak.
