Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to gather, compile and arrange different oral accounts in Morong that can be a tool in teaching local folklores at school by present and future generation. The study was conducted during the Academic year 2016-2017. The processes involved in the study include, data gathering through interview, transcription of the data, analysis and interpretation of notes gathered from interviews, and writing narratives. The data were drawn from more than 50 informants from the five (5) barangays in Morong namely, Bombongan, San Pedro, Maybancal, Lanang and Lagundi through an interview, likewise, the study is structured to a descriptive-qualitative research methodology utilizing an informal interview. It is also development in nature for is attempted to produce stories from gathered oral accounts of Morong. The theory/philosophy used in this study was 'Constructivism', a philosophy of learning that is basically about reflecting on experiences and constructing own understanding regarding the world where we live. It was found appropriate since it involves sharing the life experiences and understanding of the informants about the oral account in their barangay relevant to the study. The information gathered allows the researchers to structure the output of the study which is the written narratives of the oral stories collected. From the gathered data, five (5) folklores were generated namely: The Untold Stories, The Mysterious Rock, The Cavalier, The Sinister Dog, and Gaway. All these five stories depict rich cultures and traditions of the people in Morong town in Rizal Province. It was recommended for future researchers to validate the anthologize narratives generated from the interview data and conduct similar study utilizing other variables.
