Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to determine the effects of peer tutoring on the mathematical performance of senior high school students in selected topics in Calculus. Experimental method was employed in the study which utilized one shot pretest and posttest design. The respondents of the study were composed of twenty (20) senior high school students from Four Mulawin of University of Rizal System-Laboratory School during the school year 2013-2014. The instrument used in the study was the researchers made test in the different lessons in Calculus, which was validated through Item Analysis. The findings of the study revealed that the mathematical performance of the respondents improved with the use of enrichment activities in peer tutoring. All mean scores in the posttest were higher than pretest. There is an increase on the performance of the respondents in the posttest results. There is a significant difference on the level of performance of the senior high school students in the pretest and posttest results with respect to derivatives of a function, rules of differentiation, derivatives of higher order and derivatives of products and quotients. On the basis of the summary of findings, it was concluded that students who were exposed to peer tutoring performed better in the different lessons in Calculus as revealed by their posttest scores. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that students who were exposed to peer tutoring performed better in the different lessons in Calculus as revealed by their posttest scores. From the findings and conclusion drawn, it was recommended that students should be exposed to varied Mathematics activities and strategies to enhance their mathematics achievement, peer tutoring in Mathematics should be encouraged to enhance the achievement in Mathematics who found difficulty in the subject and similar studies may be conducted considering other variables.
