Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study analyzed the job satisfaction and career development of teacher-counselors in National High Schools in Rizal during school year 2016-2017 at different school in Rizal. A total of fifteen (30) teachers-counselors were used as respondents, who were described in terms of sex, age, monthly income, civil status, length of service, highest educational attainment and designation for profile of the teacher-counselors. Recognition and achievement, work environment and compensation and benefit for the level of job satisfaction for teacher-counselors and post graduate studies, for career development, attendance to seminar/conferences/trainings and serve research was used to determine the job satisfaction and career development used to teacher-counselors. To determine the level of job satisfaction of the teacher-counselors in terms of recognition and achievement, work environment and compensation and benefit, frequency, percentage and rank distribution was used, were used to find out the level of career development used to teacher-counselors, to determine the significant differences, on the job satisfaction and career development of teacher-counselors in National High Schools in Rizal, mean and one way analysis of variance was used. Based on the gathered data on the profile of the respondents, age, out of 30 respondents, 10 or 33.3 percent belong to age bracket of 30-35 years old. Sex, out of 30 respondents, 23 or 76.7 percent are female. Civil status, out of 30 respondents 22 or 73.3 percent is married. Educational attainment, out of 30 respondents, 17 or 56.7 percent belong to the bracket 6-10 years. Monthly income, out of 30 respondents 20 or 66.7 percent is belong to the bracket 15,000-20,999. Based on the level of job satisfaction of teacher-counselors in National High Schools in Rizal, recognition and achievement obtained an average of 3.47 with verbal interpretation of high. Work environment obtained an average of 3.52 with verbal interpretation of high. Compensation and Benefit obtained an average of 3.41 with verbal interpretation of high. On the significant difference on the level of the job satisfaction and career development of teacher-respondents in National High Schools in Rizal, the result shows that with respect to the different aspects in terms of sex the f-value obtained p-values of .053, .170, .611, .621, .525 and .361, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus, the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of age the f0value obtained p-values of .983, .856, .001, .157, .863 and .717, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of monthly income the F-value obtained p-values of .288, .069, .839, .165, and .010, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of civil status the f-value obtained p-values of .053, .170, .611, .621, .525 and .361, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of length of service the f-value obtained p-values of .298, .260, .345, .192, .837, and .515, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of highest educational attainment the f-value obtained p-values of .933, .863, .887, .399 and .194, which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. In terms of designation the f-value obtained p-values of .011, .073, and .000. which are all greater than 0.05 level of significance, thus the null hypothesis is accepted and therefore found not significant. Based from the findings, the following conclusions are drawn that most of the respondents are female, 30-35 years old, college graduates married and are working for 6-10 years and above. Also, there are more female teacher-counselors in National High Schools in Rizal, young in the service, earned a monthly income of 15,000-20,999, married and graduate of MAED/MAT. Teacher-counselors have high job satisfaction Teacher-counselor have moderate level of career development. The personological information of the teacher-counselor does not affect the job satisfaction and career development. Job satisfaction is related only to recognition and achievement, work environment and compensation and benefit. Based on the findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations are given. The school administrations may encourage the counselor to attend conferences, seminars and trainings to be updated with the current trends in guidance and counseling and in preparation to a higher level of career, it is suggested that teacher counselors must finish their post graduate studies. Parallel studies maybe conducted considering other variables.
