Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
Executive Summary: This study aims to assess the selected elements of transportation in the first district of the Province of Rizal. The findings of the researchers are supported by a rating sheet and the research was conducted in different municipalities in the first district of the province of Rizal. This study is made in order to know how the selected elements of transportation in the First District of Rizal works and what adjustments if any, are needed. As the study went by, the researchers conducted survey in order to get the rating and the reaction of different respondents on elements being assessed. In order to get the overall rating of different municipalities, the researchers used the mean method. This study is done with knowledge of what elements are to be assessed. After identifying the different elements for assessment, the researchers conducted a survey to get the rating of each individual interviewed. A questionnaire composed of different questions and statements and a 5 Likert scale was used on this survey. After finishing the process, the study was ready for documentation. As a result, different ratings appeared which reflect the satisfaction of each respondent interviewed about selected elements being assessed. The overall rating of all the elements in the survey conducted by the researchers, is uncertain. Even though the results appear to be uncertain, it doesn't mean no problems were encountered with the assessed elements. Some questions under each element has a rating of "disagree" which gave the researchers idea on how the elements can be improved in many ways. After the study and all the preparations were done, the researchers conclude that streets and highways are well maintained and in good condition, but the big problem are illegally parked vehicles. In terms of traffic management, respondents disagreed that security officers are sufficient to maintain public safety. With regard to public vehicles, the researchers conclude that the respondent can get ride quickly. On pedestrian facilities, the researchers conclude that there are sufficient pedestrian signs for the reference of the public. The researchers came up with the idea that the government must monitor illegally parked vehicles, add security officers for the safety of the public, conduct seminars or workshops for the different drivers, and lastly, add safe facilities for the pedestrians to use.
