Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted to determine the relationship of sports competitive anxiety of student-athletes and their athletic performance in University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal. This study was conducted during school year 2017-2018. The subject of the study comprised thirty (30) basketball student-athletes and thirty (30) volleyball student-athletes with a total number of 60 student athletes of University of Rizal System Morong Campus during the year 2017-2018. The study used descriptive research design utilizing adapted questionnaire checklist and researchers made survey questionnaire in gathering the needed data about the sports competitive anxiety and athletic performance of student-athletes. The data gathered using adaptive questionnaire checklist and researchers made survey questionnaire was statistically treated using mean, ranking and Pearson product moment (Pearson r.) The findings revealed that sports competitive anxiety with respect to home court competition have a significant relationship on the athletic performance of student-athletes in terms of skills execution and physical condition. While the sports competitive anxiety with respect to road team competition have no significant relationship on the athletic performance of student athletes. From the findings, the following were recommended: the Sports Coordinator of the School is encouraged to conduct a seminar that can assist the student-athletes with regards to coping with anxiety, overcoming fear of failure and success. The Sports Coordinator should conduct a Plyometrics and Spirit Training for the enhancement of student-athletes speed, power, stamina and overall health in order to produce a better athletic performance. Coaches should intensify the skills training and provide a seminar or lecture on the mental readiness of the student-athlete. Future researchers may conduct this kind of research on different Universities and Colleges in the province of Rial utilizing other variables.
