EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine the level of listening comprehension of the selected grade 10 students from San Guillermo National High School. The study used the descriptive-evaluative method utilizing a listening comprehension test adapted from standardized TOEFL listening test employed through media namely: amplified speaker, earphones/headset, and the teacher. The study revealed that the respondents' level of listening comprehension in terms of the three media used are: 5.96 with a verbal interpretation of "level 2 functional" for the amplified speaker; 8.08 with a verbal interpretation of "level 3 professional" for the earphones/headset; and 8.00 with a verbal interpretation of "level 3 professional" for the teacher. Based on the summary of findings the following conclusion has been drawn. The levels of listening comprehension of the respondents differ in terms of the three media used namely: amplified speaker, earphones/headset, and the teacher. The researchers recommended that the teachers create and employ creative learning strategies in the classrooms to facilitate improvement of the level of the listening comprehension of the students. It is also recommended that school must implement programs that will facilitate improvement of the listening comprehension level of the students in the basic education schools as well as students of the teacher education. Similar studies may be conducted using other variables.
