Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed propagate Ilang-Ilang (Canaga odorata. Lam) for High school science investigative research central to the idea of developing an activity sheet extracted from the procedure utilized in this research. In doing so, the principle in conducting a research experiment in the high school level was considered considering the format; title, introduction, purpose, materials, procedure, hypothesis, guide questions, laboratory reports, data recording and analysis, questions for data analysis and interpretation and thought questions. This was made possible through investigating the effect of plant growth regulator (indole butyric acid or IBA and coconut water) in the experiment. Set ups were done at San Guillermo Morong, Rizal where the observations and Monitoring were conducted. Experimental method was used for comparing the effects and to determine the potential effect of coconut water compared with indole butyric acid (IBA). Results yield from this experiment served as basis in developing a Laboratory-based learning activity for the component of science curriculum-investigatory project in a problem-based approach. Methods include direct seeding or planting done separately for different set ups to compare the effects of negative and positive controls and that of the experimental set. Positive negative control like lukewarm water, positive control use IBA and experimental used coconut water. Soaking the seeds for twelve (12) hours completes the treatment. Observation were done nine (9) weeks after direct planting each in the assigned bags. Each set up composed thirty (30) plants for sourcing data. ANOVA and t-test were used to treat data to determine effects and its difference. Findings revealed a potential effect of coconut water as compared to IBA permitting to reject the null hypothesis, hence a significant difference. Based from the findings, coconut water is recommended to treat seeds of Ilang-Ilang before planting. Moreover, a further study is recommended focusing on reducing the hours of treating the seeds with IBA from twelve hours downgrading by two hours every set up. This could give a robust comparison of the effects being observed in the growing plants if compared with the effects of coconut water.
