Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The research study entitled "Development of Driver Seat Lock Mechanism Using a Wireless Triggering Device" was conducted by the 5th year student of the College of Engineering taking up Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering during the 2nd semester Academic Year 2016-2017 up to 1st semester of the Academic Year 2017-2018 at the University of Rizal System-Morong. Developmental and descriptive methods of research were utilized by selected experts in the aspect of engineering. The study focused on designing a wireless control system for the driver seat locking device. The study will only limit to have a direct current (DC) motor attached to the driver seat back rest and the locking mechanism that is controlled by the controller to the circuit. The researchers aimed to develop this study for preventing vehicle theft. The methods used in the development of the driver seat lock mechanis, using remote controller are based on Gear Box, Machine Design, and Radio Transmitter principle. These principles were carried out to increase the carrying capacity of the motor, to ensure that the security features of the lock mechanism is hard to breach, and making it wireless to access it conveniently. The materials that being used in the anti-theft system are available and affordable in constructing the prototype and only the designated remote of the receiver can only operate the system. The future researchers may take initiative to evaluate by testing the effectiveness of the developed anti-theft system. Car manufacturers and developers may add this kind of technology for the design of their car safety features. Car owners may be vigilant or alert in the other possibilities of breaching the system because of the modern technology can also be used by the thief. And local government units, such as the PNP, DILG, NBi may take actions by increasing the security level for the car thieves be unable to do a crime.
