Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Biology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong Campus Morong, Rizal during the school year 2017-2018. The study aimed to determine the antiangiogenic activity of Dalairo leaves extract. Dalairo leaves extract was used and compared its effect with commercially prepared Antiangiogenic (Retinoic Acid) and Proangiogenic (95% Ethanol) Substances. The study used thirty (30) pieces of one day old fertile ducks eggs. This kind od subject as well as its age were requirements in conducting Chorioallan Membrane (CAM) Assay. The said assay was used to test Dalairo leaves extract as antiangiogenic agent which was determined on the 12th day of incubation. Mean and Standard Deviation were used to determine the number of blood vessels branch points on duck CAMs treated with pure concentration of Dalario Leaves extract, Retonoic Acid (Inhibitor), and 95% Ethanol (Promoter). The computed percentage of vascularity on duck Chorioaalantoic Membrane (CAMs) exposed to filter paper treated with pure concentration of dalairo leaves extract against inhibitor obtained a percentage of 49.70; while between pure concentration of dalairo leaves extract with reference to promoter obtained a percentage of 76.92, which shows that the treatments between the pure concentration against promoter is active in promoting of vascularization of blood vessels on duck CAMs. One-way Analysis of Variance (One-Way ANOVA) was utilized to determine the siginificant difference on the vascularization of CAMs exposed to filter papers treated with different substance. Based from the result of the study, it revealed that the dalairo leaves extract has the antiangiogenic potential, considering the low number of blood vessels branch points present in duck CAMs. Hence, Anaxagorea luzonensis A. Gray (Dalairo) leaves extract is effective as antiangiogenic.
