Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Drafting Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study titled, Design of Convertible Drafting Chair, aimed to design and construct a convertible drafting chair that could be used as a teaching device, perform try out and revision. Likewise, it will determine the acceptability of the project in terms of Design, durability, functionality, Safety and Usefulness and also to determine the significant difference between the evaluation of made by the experts and end-users with respect to the mentioned variables, the design of convertible drafting chair was designed and constructed from locally available materials which as a table/backrest, angle bars, flat bars, tubular, and angular steel, plywood, bolts and nuts. It utilized developmental and descriptive method of research to determine the acceptability of convertible drafting chair. Also, it used an adapted and modified questionnaire checklist validated by the experts in drafting technology and mechanical technology in industrial technology. There are two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project, it is composed of 25 respondents. Based from the summary of findings it was concluded that the project is very much accepted in terms of durability, functionality, and safety, but, in terms of design and usefulness there were significant difference between the evaluation of the experts and end-users for it was rejected, because its obtained-computed results is more than the computed t-value, but this still implies that the hypothesis is accepted and verbally interpreted as not significant and very much acceptable. And lastly, based on the results, the study arrives at the following recommendations; the developed Design of Convertible Drafting Chair must be done more efficient to those who want to use it. the developed project can be improved in more possible way to chose who want to use it. the device should have wheels for easy transfer. The table/backrest should be adjustable up and down, to be more convenient for different height of users. Care and maintenance should be made periodically in order to prolong the life of the chair.
