Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This thesis entitled Computer-based Instructional Material in Biology was conducted during the school year 2015-2016. The study sought to determine the computed mean of the instructional material bout the diseases of the digestive system, its causes, signs and symptoms, and treatment with the use of herbal plants. The respondents were teachers of Science in Different schools in Rizal. The researchers utilized descriptive-developmental method of research using rubric which is adopted and modified, for the evaluation of the instructional material in terms of objectives, content, organization and presentation, engagement of learning and interactivity, graphic user interface, layout, textual elements, sounds effects, user-friendliness and fair use guidelines. The computer-based instructional material was developed through several steps. First, is the selection of competency to be considered in designing the material. Second, gathering of data needed in the making of the instructional material. They made the instructional material using the Visual Basic.net 2013. This program in the computer allows users to modify code written in the simple programming language known as Visual Basic. Qualitative discussion and mean were statistical tools used to answer the problems in line with the study. The material was evaluated by experts in the sciences if it would be applicable in teaching High School Level Biology for the topic 'Diseases of the Digestive System'. The respondents were the teachers of science. Based from the evaluation, the materials was exemplary hence, recommended to be used in the high school. A follow-up study was also recommended on the effectiveness of the computer-based instructional material.
