Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop multi-media materials in teaching poetry. The level of acceptability of the developed instructional material was also determined. This study was conducted in the academic year 2013-2014 at the University of Rizal System, Morong Campus. The study used the method descriptive-developmental method of research as it focused in the development and evaluation of the multi-media materials in teaching poetry. To determine the level of acceptability of the developed multi-media materials on selected topics in poetry, mean was used. The study showed that the developed multi-media materials are acceptable in teaching poetry, since it was found out to be very much accepted by three groups of respondents, the 4th year BSE-English students, literature teachers and IT experts respectively, in terms of objectives, content, usefulness, presentation, graphics and design, language and style, modifiability and user-friendliness. The researchers highly recommended that this instructional material should be used as an effective multi-media materials in teaching poetry. Next, a follow up study should be conducted to develop multi-media materials in teaching poetry of china and other afro-Asian countries. Another follow up study that will test the effectiveness of the PPT is encouraged. Lastly, a follow up study should be conducted that will provide additional exercise that will promote interactive learning In the classroom situation.
