Thesis (Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to develop and determined the acceptability of Name and Image Mnemonic System in Science and Health for Children with Intellectual Disabilities. The study was conducted at Binangonan Elementary School, Maybancal Elementary School and Tomas Claudio Memorial Elementary School within the school year 2014-2015. The respondents of the study were five (5) regular science teachers and special education teachers. The study used developmental and descriptive evaluative research design in gathering the needed data and which served as the basis in the analysis of the study. Qualitative discussion was used in discussing the development of the Name and Image Mnemonic System; weighted mean was used for finding the level of acceptability of the developed name and image mnemonic system; and independent t-test was used for determining the significant difference on the level of acceptability of the developed name and Mnemonic system as evaluated by the two groups of respondents. Based on the summary of findings, the developed Name and Image Mnemonic System in Science and Health for Children with Intellectual disabilities was very much acceptable with respect to its objectives, content, language used and creativity. It was also found out that there was a significant difference on the evaluation of two groups of respondents on the acceptability of the Name and Image Mnemonic System for Children with Intellectual Disabilities. It was concluded that the Name and Image Mnemonic system in Science and Health was very much acceptable with respect to its objectives, content, language used and creativity; and there was a significant difference on the evaluation of the two groups of respondents. The study recommended to utilize the Name and Image Mnemonic system in Science and Health for Children with Intellectual Disabilities as instructional material and conduct follow up study on the effectiveness of the developed material.
