Dissertation note: Thesis BSF University of Rizal System. Cardona 2002 Summary: The growth response of Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings using different commercial fish growers was experimented. The main objective of the study is to determine the growth response of Nile tilapia in terms of weight and length as well as the survival using the different commercial fish growers. The experiment has three treatments, Treatment 1 Selecta fish grower, Treatment 2 Purina-chow fish grower and Treatment 3 B-Meg fish grower, each treatment was replicated three times, Completely Randomized Design was used as the experimental design and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was utilized as the statistical tool to determine the significant difference. The study started last July 1, 2002, ended August 30, 2002, completing the sixty (60) days culture period. Data was gathered through sampling techniques, five samplings at fifteen days interval, to determine the growth response of Nile tilapia. In terms of growth Treatment 1 fed by Selecta Fish grower gave the best result, with an average length of 4.56 centimeter and average weight of 3.43 grams. In terms of survival treatment one gave the highest survival rate of 35.09 percent. Metabolism and physio-chemical parameters should be monitored because it can affect the growth and survival of the fish. From the result analyzed using F-test, computed value of 2.8 in weight and 0.24 in length is higher than the tabular value of 5.14 and gave the decision that the null hypotheses is accepted and there is no significant difference among the treatments given.
