Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a computer-based instructional material in teaching Geometry for Grade 8 students conducted at the University of Rizal System-Morong Campus, Laboratory School, during the School year 2014-2015. The computer-based instructional material was the Prezi Presentation, an application software somehow similar to Powerpoint Presentation. The respondents were the Grade 8 students with the total number of thirty (30) students. The pretest and posttest was developed by the researchers and validated by the experts and have undergone the item analysis. The study used experimental method which utilized two groups pretest and posttest design and descriptive developmental method. In determining the level of performance of the control group and experimental group as revealed by the pretest and posttest result with respct to various topics in Geometry such as Properties of Parallelograms, Using properties of Parallelograms and determining Parallelograms, mean and standard deviation were used. to find out if there is any significant difference on the level of performance of the control group and experimental group as revealed by the pretest and posttest results with respect to the different lessons in Geometry, dependent t-test was applied. To verify if there is any significant difference on the level of performance on the control group and experimental group as revealed by the posttest results with respect to the different lessons in Geometry, independent t-test was used. and in determining the level of effectiveness of the computer-based instructional material in teaching Geometry for Grade 8 students, mean percentage increase was applied. Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the following are hereby summarized. It was found out that the mathematical performance of the respondents was improved with the use of developed Computer-based instructional Material. The performance of the control and experimental group differs significantly in the pretest and posttest in lesson using properties of parallelogram and determining parallelogram. The performance of the experimental group differs significantly that the control group in lesson determining parallelogram as revealed in posttest results. The developed computer-based instructional material in Geometry is moderately effective in lesson determining parallelogram, while in lesson properties of parallelogram and using properties of parallelogram were less effective. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that the students who were exposed to Computer-Based Instructional Material performed better in the different lessons in Geometry as revealed by their posttest scores. The developed Prezi presentation is effective in some instruction of lessons in Geometry. Based on the findings and conclusion drawn, the following recommendations are offered: Use Computer-based instructional material in teaching-learning process to gain much higher level of performance of the students. Revise and modify of the developed computer-based instructional material and conduct similar studies considering other variables and setting.
