Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Psychology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The main objective of the study was to determine the factors affecting the tendency of an abstinent drug user to relapse specifically stress, environmental cues and drug priming. The study was conducted in Good Voyage Treatment and Rehabilitation Center during the school year 2017-2018. The respondents of this study were composed of six (6) male aftercare patients of Good Voyage. The respondents experienced one (1) or more substance abuse relapse during their abstinence when they were out of rehabilitation. The study used purposive sampling technique in choosing the respondents. The respondents have no sex preferences, no age limit and have substance abuse relapse. The descriptive qualitative research design specifically the case study method of research was utilized in the study. The researchers conducted an in depth interview to the respondents using the researcher's made questionnaire checklist validated by the authorities concerned to gather information and ensure necessary data. Based on the results and findings, the study concluded that the aftercare patients of Good Voyage became susceptible to substance abuse relapse after a long period of abstinence due to stress, environmental cues and drug priming. On the basis of summary of findings and conclusion enumerated, these are the recommendations formulated by the researchers, that the school may send a request for technical assistance to Rizal Anti-Drug Abuse Office (RADAO) and Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) to assist them in conducting seminars and forums that may help students fully understand the danger of substance abuse. Also, information dissemination like distributing brochures and pamphlets to the community and school on drug abuse prevention and education can also be done to educate the community on its significance. Local government units can devise programs that can keep the vulnerable sector. Non-Government Organizations and other institutions whose visions are relative to drug abuse prevention and education can extend more support to the victims of substance use disorder and substance abuse relapse and give them intervention programs that can help them start anew. Rizal Anti-drug Abuse Office in partnership with other related agencies and Local Government Units and the community can initiate different programs targeting the prevention of substance abuse in the province of Rizal. Parallel studies may be conducted using other variables.
