Dissertation note: Thesis BSF University of Rizal System. Cardona 2016 Summary: This study entitled Effects of Digman (Hydrila verticillata) on the growth performance of the Nile tilapia (Oreochomis niloticus) were conducted to find alternative cheap source of protein and to find appropriate feeding diet and the effects on the growth performance, in terms of length, weight, survival and FCR of Nile Tilapia to help to lessen the production cost in fish farming. This study used the experimental method of research. The researchers utilized the Completely Randomized Design (CRD). A completely randomized design relies on randomization to control for the effects of extraneous variables. The experimenter assumes that, on average, extraneous factors will affect treatment conditions equally; so any significant differences between conditions can fairly be attributed to the independent variable. The researchers used weighting scale to measure the individual weight of the species. The calliper used to measure the standard length of the species. The study is conducted with the duration of 16 weeks from July 18, 2015 to October 18, 2015 all data gathered are recorded. The species are stock in eight (8) plastic basins each contains fifteen (15) fingerlings ranging 4.07 cm- 4.21 cm and weighting 2.50 gram- 2.57 gram. Findings affirmed that Treatment II which is formulated feeds with Digman gave the better result in terms of weight, length, survival, and FCR than to Treatment I. Observation indicated that various feed formulation; feeds accepted the growth performance of Nile tilapia. The result indicates that both formulated feeds Digman and formulated feeds with Digman are suitable for the growth performance of Nile tilapia.
