The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System - Morong Campus during the 1st semester of 2015-2016. The researchers who conducted this study were the three students of 5th year mechanical engineering. The conceptual of the permanent magnet linear generator (PMLG) for ocean wave energy converter (OWEC) was presented using CAD Software. Excel software was the flat form utilized to aid in the mathematical calculation of the research study. A support application called visual basic application (VBA) has similar programming language to that visual basic software and was utilized to support the calculation and other mathematical and logic formulations. This software has helped excel to gain the simulated value. Developmental design was utilized to optimize the permanent magnet linear generator (PMLG) for ocean wave energy converter (OWEC). The calculation I the optimization was done by the genetic algorithm in the excel software. The calculated optimum result of dimension of parts slot of permanent magnet linear generator (PMLG) such as slot height, slot width, tooth width, air gap, magnet height, magnet width, stator width, magnet spacing and number of coil per for ocean wave energy converter (OWEC) provided maximum power did not violate the necessary predefined set of process and economic constraints that limits the dimension of parts of PMLG within the desirable operating boundary. The result of the power output in the optimization had increased the efficiency of permanent magnet linear generator by 28.88%. The authors of the study noted some recommendations that may be reinforced in the future study, such as the improvement of simulation algorithm; advance software; higher wave vertical and multi-objective optimization. This project study wills significant benefit the community, other researchers and the academe ER -
