EXCECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine the influence of K-pop to self- esteem and depression of adolescent students of University of Rizal System Morong, Campus during the school year 2018-2019. The subject of the study was composed of one hundred (100) respondents who were chosen through random cluster sampling technique. The variables considered were self-esteem and depression. The method used was descriptive-correlation research, utilizing adopted modified questionnaire checklist and standardized psychological test. Data through the questionnaire were collected, tabulated and interpreted with the use of appropriate statistical treatment. The findings revealed that respondents' friends and social media are very much influential when it comes to K-pop. With that, they are encouraged to explore such things as K- pop. They were able to learn Korean language through listening to music and through watching dramas. The respondents admire the uniqueness and creativity of K-pop artists through their physical appearance and hard to memorize dance moves. The respondents loved to see persuading and tame faces with good looks. The respondents agreed that K-pop helped them feel confident and satisfied with the way they look. They feel good being a K-pop fan. They are not worried about what others might say to them for being a fan. The respondents considered their oppa's (Korean male artist) trouble with other k-pop groups to be the reason for their depression. They find it hard to break negative thoughts about what haters may say to their oppa's (Korean male artist) so they ended blaming themselves for the trouble. One of the factors why they suffer from depression is they not able to attend Korean pop concert. Based on the findings identified by the researchers, it shows that the extent of depression of the respondents has a significant relationship with the extent of K-pop influence with respect to social media, music and fashion. With this, the researchers then strongly recommended that school may conduct programs, like personality development and values formation. Adolescents who are influence of Korean pop may set limitation on imitating K-pop. Adolescent students who have a big admiration on Korea pop may set a time limit on watching dramas and listening to their music and control themselves in buying expensive K-pop merchandise and concert tickets.
