EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the causes and effects of mathematics anxiety. It was undertaken at the University of Rizal System-Morong Campus during the Academic Year 2016-2017. The respondents of the study were the students from four sections of Grade 7 of Pantay National High School. The study used descriptive-qualitative method of research, utilizing the adapted and researcher made questionnaire checklist as the main instrument in gathering the necessary data and information to attain the study. The study showed that social, personal ad intellectual factors cause the students to have a mathematics anxiety. The study reveals possible preventive measures that the students can do to prevent mathematics anxiety. It was recommended that the school shall provide a parent-teacher and student orientation on how to prevent mathematics anxiety and also provide a seminar type discussion about the proper way on handling a student in mathematics subject for the teacher proper approach and best way strategies in teaching mathematics. The teachers shall use a varied and suited learning style in teaching mathematics and motivate their students to have a courage in learning mathematics.
