EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study focused on the effect of heterogeneous grouping on the academic performance of grade 4 pupils. The study was conducted at Bagumbayan Elementary School. The respondents were one hundred (100) grade four pupils from the 4 sections of Bagumbayan Elementary School. The final grade in the first and second grading of the respondents in terms of English, Science and Math were the determines to know the level of academic performance of grade 4 pupils. The respondents were given a questionnaire checklist to know the extent of effect of heterogeneous grouping in the performance of grade 4 pupils. The questionnaire checklist is composed of three different aspects such as the pupil's motivation, learning styles and values development, Questionnaire checklist has eight (8) descriptor for each aspects, the researchers get the academic performance on the grade 4 in their form 138. The researchers used the descriptive research design and documentary analysis since the study aims to gather information that can help in the study. The main objective of the study is to find the extent of effect of heterogeneous grouping on academic performance of grade 4 pupils. The researchers found out that the pupils' values development has a great influence on the academic performance of grade 4 pupils under the heterogeneous grouping, the learning styles and the pupils' motivation is merely neglected. It was concluded that the pupils' motivation, learning styles and values development under Science and Math subjects are not significant on the extent of effect to heterogeneous of grade 4 pupils' motivation and learning styles don't have strong effect on their academic performance under English subject. Based on the summary of findings and conclusion drawn, the researchers recommended the following pupils have given daily assignment by the teacher, pupils may be given different activities to upgrade their academic performance, values integration in the different subject area should be given consideration and parallel studies may be conducted considering other variables.
