TI - Motivation and mental readiness of bachelor of science in psychology graduates in taking the psychometrician board exam AV - L 69 .M857 2016 PY - 2016/// KW - Motivation (Education) N2 - EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to determine the extent of motivation and extent of mental readiness of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology Graduates in the Psychometrician Board Exam utilizing the descriptive method of research by using a researchers-made questionnaire-checklist as the main instrument in order to gather significant and relevant data about the problem cited. The study involved a total of two hundred four (204) Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduates from SY 2013-2014 and SY 2014-2015 of the University of Rizal System Morong Campus. The variables utilized in the study are in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and mental readiness with respect to the competencies in the four core subjects namely: abnormal psychology, industrial psychology, theories of personality and psychological assessment. To analyze the data gathered, the following statistical treatment were uses: The level of motivation of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduates in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation was determined through the formula frequency and percentage while, the extent of mental readiness with respect to the competencies Abnormal Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Psychological Assessment and Theories of personality were utilized the mean and standard deviation and the significant relationship between motivation and mental readiness of the respondents was determined through correlation analysis. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the respondents' extent of motivation in terms of intrinsic and intrinsic motivation were found significant and relevant factor in taking Psychometrician Board Exam while the extent of mental readiness with respect to the competencies of the four core subjects; Abnormal Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Psychological Assessment, and Theories of Personality were perceived by the respondents were somehow provided them with confidence and enough cognitive preparations. Based on the findings and conclusion drawn, the following were the recommendations offered; Colleges with regulated courses are encouraged to provide empowerment and motivation for the students in order to gauge the students' preparedness to take the board exam. Institutions may provide intensive refresher subjects that will help graduates to be mentally ready in taking the board exam. Institutions may also provide retention programs in order to help the students in their endeavor. Educational institutions may provide pre-board exams in order to strengthen the program of BS Psychology. Sound admission requirements may be considered for individuals who will take the BS Psychology course and Sound admission requirements may be considered for individuals who will take the BS Psychology courser and similar studies may be conducted using other variables in other colleges in University of Rizal System that also offers regulated courses ER -
