Descriptive method of research was used in this study using a test for the transformational grammar as instrument in gathering data. The respondents of the study were the Grade 10 with the total of 93 students from the Laboratory School of University of Rizal System. Frequency, percentage distribution, rank and mean were applied to determine the transformational grammar competencies of the Grade 10 students. The salient findings of the study revealed that more than 50 percent of the respondents are 16 years old, female and who belong to section Pluto. As for competencies in transformational grammar such as structure of sentence and uses of tenses, a verbal interpretation of Fairly Satisfactory was obtained. However, when grouped according to profile despite having different ages respondents got Satisfactory performance. As to sex, both males and females obtained Satisfactory. There was also a Satisfactory performance in both section of Neptune and Pluto when it comes to Structure of Sentences and Uses of Tenses. In terms of parent's educational attainment, those who graduated either high school or college got Satisfactory performance. In terms of monthly family income, among families with higher income, learners performed Excellent Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that majority of the respondents are 16 years old female, and the belong to section Pluto, and parents are college graduates and the monthly family income. ranges from Php. 25, 001.00 and above. The students have Fairly Satisfactory competencies in the structure of sentences and uses tenses and Very Satisfactory on their academic grades Based from the aforementioned conclusions the following recommendations are offered: Grade 10 students may be more exercises on transformational grammar especially in structure of sentences and use of tenses to improve their fairly satisfactory competencies, the English department should come up with the activities that will enhance the competency of the learners in grammar and conduct parallel studies along this area using other variables.
