TI - Modified flattener for the mass production of water hyacinth AV - TT877.8 .M72 2017 PY - 2017/// KW - Handicraft N2 - EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled modified Flattener for the Mass Production of Eichhornia crassipes (Water hyacinth) for Handicraft Products was developed to increase the efficiency of producing handicraft products by means of decreasing the amount of water hyacinth polluting our local waters. The modified machine was composed of a stainless roller made from locally available materials and design modified from an existing livelihood center. Descriptive and Experimental Methods of Research was used by the researchers in this study to complete the output. The machine level of performance in terms of its accuracy, efficiency, safety and maintenance, user-frienldliness and workability was rated after evaluation through trials and testing. Based on the summary of design, the researchers concluded that the modified flattener didn't need two operators to keep up with the pace of the machine's four rollers. The more stems you feed the machine, the faster the production and increase of the products. The researchers came up with the following recommendations which is to modify the guide to increase its effectiveness to maintain the cleanliness of each roller to perform well to produce high quality flattened stem and to prevent malfunction of the machines while in use because roller should be flattened the stem one at the time. The researchers highly recommend for the future researchers to constructa larger design for the platform of the workplace that the machine has.
