Online resources: Dissertation note: UGTHESIS Bachelor of Science in Community Development University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal Summary: This study aimed to assess the livelihood needs of the residents in community particularly in Kasiglahan Village, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal. One hundred (100) residents of Kasiglahan Village, San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal were taken as a respondents utilizing simple random sampling design. The researchers utilized the descriptive method of research. Questionnaire checklist was used as tools in gathering data. The statistical tools used were frequency and percentage distributions to determine the profile of the respondents. To test the hypothesis of the study, Chi-square was used. The following findings were drawn from the study on the profile of the respondents. In terms of sex, majority of the respondents are females with the frequency and percentage distribution of 59. With regard to age bracket, 26 to 35 obtained the highest frequency of 28 or 28 percent and the age bracket 56 and above obtained the lowest frequency of 8 or 8 percent. Majority of the respondents were married with the percentage of 55. In regard to the length of the residency 1 to 5 years obtained the highest frequency of 33 or 33 percent and the lowest frequency and percentage of 6 are 21 and above residing years in the community. 71 percent of the respondents owned their house and in terms of family members residing in one house 3 to 5 members obtained the highest frequency of 58 or 58 percent. With the total of one hundred (100) respondents, 44 or 44 percent are mothers. In terms of educational attainment, most of the respondents are high school graduates with 41 percent. Based on the socio-economic profile of the respondents, the study revealed that 43 percent or most of the respondents are currently working as a vendor. In terms of number of working in the family, majority of the respondents had two (2) earners in the family with 40 percent of the total respondents. In regard to monthly family income, highest percentage of the respondents which is 29 estimated their monthly family income ranging from 5,000 - 9,999 pesos. In terms of estimated monthly family expenses, 45 percent or most of the respondents have estimated monthly expenses of their family ranging from 5,000 - 9,999 pesos. With 53 perecent of the total respondents, activities relating to business obtained the highest percentage in terms of respondents' special skills or talents. The following findings were drawn from the study on the assessed needs for livelihood. In terms of Vocational and Entrepreneurship, business obtained the highest frequency 83 or 45.4 percent. In terms of Food Processing, meat processing has the highest frequency and percentage distribution of 42. In terms of Cosmetology, majority of the respondents need is manicuring with a frequency and percentage distribution of 39.
