Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine the level of implementation of the guidance activities by the secondary schools in the province of Rizal in preparation for the K-12 program. It was conducted in the secondary schools in Rizal during the school year 2015-2016. The respondents of the study consisted of 52 guidance counselors or any appointed personnel in secondary schools in Rizal. The study used the descriptive method and purposive sampling technique. A researcher made questionnaire checklist was developed, validated and served as the main instrument in gathering data. Frequency, percentage and rank distribution were used to determine the profile of the guidance counselors, computed mean was sued to determine the level of implementation of the guidance activities by the secondary schools with respect to the DepEd mandated and counselor initiated activities, computed mean was used to determine the level of implementation of the guidance activities by the secondary schools; frequency and rank distribution were used to know the career preferences of the students with respect of the professional and non-professional courses; based on the questionnaire checklist used by the researchers, they have determined that the guidance preparation of the secondary schools in Rizal for the K to 12 program. The collected data were treated, interpreted and summarized. Presentation and comprehensive study were done and formulated the summary of findings and found out comprehensive results. Based on the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn. Majority of the respondents belongs to the age bracket of 35-39 years old, most of them were females and were college graduate with MAED/MAT with units, in terms of designation most of them were appointed personnel having years of service which ranges 6-10 years; the level of implementation perceived as much implemented; guidance activities are proved that professional courses are frequently chosen by the students; The guidance preparation for the K to 12 program are going to be useful in helping students choose their preferred course. The designated or an appointed guidance or an appointed guidance personnel may attend conferences, seminars and lecture to be updated on the current issues and concerns about guidance activities; secondary schools are encouraged to intensify guidance activities. Parallel studies may be conducted considering other variables.
