Thesis (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study focused on the Filipino fil entitled "Everything About Her" which was released on May 21, 2016. It was conducted during the Academic Year 2016-2017. At the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal. The study's purpose is to understand the roles of women in the society, their interests and experiences and how it was emphasized in the film using the feminist approach. The researchers made use of descriptive qualitative method of research. It was analyzed and interpreted by indentifying and discussing the feminist ideologies reflected in the film, analyzing women's social roles, experience and interests. Female perspective represented in the film and universal truths were also considered and the researchers gave the insights they gained from the study. From the careful analysis of the film, it was found out that liberal and cultural feminism were reflected in the film. Also, they social roles in which the women in the film affirm and negate with and approved that women are strong and can achieve great milestones in life. It was recommended that another feminist ideology, which is "New Age Feminism", be analyzed and determine if it is present in the film "Everything About Her". Conduct further study on the character of Jaica to strength her role as feminist character in the film, analyze other films starring Vilma Santos using feminist approach to find out if her films exemplify feminism and conduct a follow-up study using the Marxism theory.
