Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study focused on the development of a Radio Frequency-Based Student Record Monitoring System that aimed to achieve a better and innovative way of releasing records of the students. The study was conducted mainly at the Registrar's Office of the University of Rizal System Morong Campus during the School Year 2015-2016 from the second semester of 2015 up to the First Semester of 2016. The development of the Radio Frequency-Based Student Record Monitoring System was constructed by integrating two different scanning devices to function as a single system using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as the programming language to manage the whole system process and Microsoft Access for the database. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers utilized descriptive-evaluative and developmental research designs. The researchers used a researchers-made record sheet to gather data from the following aspects on testing the performance of the device in terms of accuracy, speed and security of the device. They used a researcher-made questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the device in terms of design, functionality, usefulness, and safety and maintenance. And to determine the acceptability of the program in terms of applicability, user-friendliness, workability, completeness, portability and modifiability, the researchers used the 5-point Likert scale to indicate the responses on the questionnaire checklist. The scale, ranges of weighted mean and verbal interpretation. Then the result were interpreted by referring to the objectives. After being tested, the develop radio frequency-based student record monitoring system was proven to be acceptable in terms of accuracy, speed, and security. And after being evaluated by the respondents, the developed radio-frequency-based student record monitoring system was found to be generally acceptable in terms of design, functionality, usefulness, and safety and maintenance. Also the program of the device attested to be acceptable in terms of applicability, user-friendliness, workability, completeness, portability, and modifiability. The develop radio frequency-based student record monitoring system is able to save enrolling time for the students by providing automated and accurate viewing and printing of scholastic records, and improved the process of requesting and claiming of documents. Development of this device with the following set up: information can be sent via wireless medium to a system unit, or a completely stand-alone device that has built in computer system and the database can be stored and accessed locally from the device itself.
