The study aimed to determine the land use and land cover in the Daranak Sub-watershed, Tanay,Rizal. It was conducted in Sitios within the Subwatershed of Daranak. The Descriptive method was used in the Study. In both study areas, the following land covers were identified such as orchards, forest, grassland, residential, annual crops and water bodies. The land cover with the largest coverage area is Orchard with 125.13 hectares while the smallest area coverage is the water bodies having the area of 5.6 hectares. The Major land-uses in study areas are agricultural and residential in nature. The forest in both communities were perceived as the most important land cover in terms of ecosystem services. Due to the improper farming practices of the farmers, problems associated with landslides and soil erosion may arise. Loose regulations related with tourism activities inside the sub-watershed may also cause environmental problems, particularly on the water ways. The municipal government should further its advocacy and awareness campaign to improve the mindset of the people on environmental conservation. Likewise training on farmers on sloping agriculture should be regularly conducted as well as monitoring of activities within the sub-watershed.
