Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to develop Design and Development of Roads and Highways along Marcos Highway. This was conducted during the second semester of academic year 2016-2017. And first semester of academic year 2017-2018 at the Masinag Intersection Brgy. Mayamot, Antipolo City. The research only focused on the design of the road elements. The design is only specified in intersecting road along Marcos Highway. This research only analyzed two perpendicular intersecting roads intersecting roads operated by traffic lights. Therefore, any related intersecting roads that are not perpendicular to each other such as intersecting roads connected in a triangular manner and two perpendicular roads - one is continuous but the other is not but rather stops at the intersection of the two roads are not under this study. Furthermore, the data gathered in the intersection cannot be used in other intersection with same manner of traffic management. The researchers gathered data by means of traffic counting in the stations given and it was conducted every 1 hour on a specific date, the researchers set the time collecting data during rush hour and an hour which they considered as dead hour to see the different volume of traffic in two different kinds of situation. Based on the summary of findings, the following recommendations were drawn; proper unloading and loading is recommended to manipulate and control the flow of traffic as well as the transportation of civilians and goods ; Road widening is recommended on the road going to Antipolo and going to Brgy. Mayamot as a traffic solution for the congestion on the said road. Designing of geometric road elements such as Center Island, channelizing island, divisional island and median that will be placed on the intersection and help utilize the flow of vehicle even without traffic light signal. New traffic scheme due to the implemented new deisgn of road intersection should be followed by the drivers; And, for further studies, the researchers highly recommended to study and analyze more the intersection to determine much appropriate solution to the problem, specially the merging of traffic during left turns in all four (4) stations. The principal conlusion was designing of road and road elements along Marcos Highway is an efficient and effective solution rather than just road widening that can eliminate traffic congestion and will help in flow of vehicles with ease and convenience.
