Dissertation note: Thesis BS Biology University of Rizal System. Cardona 2017 Summary: The study aimed to determine the heavy metals contamination level of corbiculla fluminea mull. (tulya) at brgy. Dalig, Cardona, rizal. The researchers made use of the descriptive design to determine the heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Hg) contamination of tulya meat on five (5) sampling sites at brgy. Dalig, Cardona, rizal. The actual study made use of the following procedures: collection of tulya, preparation of tulya meat for laboratory testing, laboratory testing of tulya meat. To determine the concentration level of heavy metals on tulya meat, the tulya meat samples were brought to Philippine institute of pure and applied chemistry (PIPAC). To determine the comparison of each heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Hg) contamination level of tulya meat that was collected on five (%) sampling sites at brgy. Dalig, Cardona, rizal as compared to the WHO standard. The atomic absorption spectrophotometry test revealed that all the heavy metals on each sampling sites were within the safe limit set by WHO. Through the said test, the result indicated that the C. fluminea (tulya) at brgy. Dalig, Cardona, rizal were still safe for human consumption but still confirmatory test or analysis was recommended in the result gathered, the researchers recommended to conduct a study for heavy metals on different municipalities surrounding Laguna lake. It was also recommended to conduct a study of heavy metals contamination at brgy. Dalig, Cardona, rizal utilizing other organisms including other form of mollusks, fishes and aquatic plants and another recommendation was to conduct a study on different weather reason to determine if there were any significant difference on the contamination level of heavy metals in tulya.
